How quickly can I get an immigration medical done?

We can normally get you in within a week of getting touch with us. It then takes approximately 3 working days to receive and review all of the results.

What do I need to have in order to book a medical?

To book an Australian immigration medical you will need to ensure that you have completed your Health Declarations on the ImmiAccount website and have downloaded your referral letter with the HAP ID on it. We will need this HAP ID in order to book your medical.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

You are welcome to cancel your appointment with no penalty up to 12 hours before your appointment time. If you cancel within 12 hours of your appointment time, then a $70 cancellation fee will apply.

What do I need to bring to the appointment?

You will need to bring:

Your current passport for photo identification. This must be the original version, not a copy.
Prescription eyewear if you use them (glasses or contact lenses)
Medication list and/or medical specialist reports
Your ImmiAccount referral letter, along with any other items outlined under the Instructions to the client section at the top of the referral letter.

Need a interpreter?

If you cannot speak English then you will need an independent interpreter; this cannot be a family member or relative.

What happens during an immigration medical?

During the medical you’ll have two consultations, one with a nurse and the second with a doctor. We endeavour to make these appointments one after the other, but depending on your urgency this may not always be possible.

What happens during the nurse consultation?

The nurse consultation will take approximately 45 minutes. During this time we’ll complete a questionnaire about your health, as well as take measurements of you height and weight. We then take a digital photo which is uploaded to your eMedical case file.

We’ll also do the following tests:

Eye test
Please bring you glasses or contacts with you if you wear them

Blood test
A blood test for Serum creatinine/eGFR 705 is required if you are 15 years or older and is included in the cost of the medical.

Additional tests may be required based on other criteria within the medical; if this is the case we will let you know of the cost of these additional tests.

What happens during the doctor consultation?

Your consultation with a doctor will take approximately 15-minute appointments. This is a full physical examination, during which time you will need to remove all clothing except your underwear. The examination will involve contact with the doctor.

Your comfort is important to us so let us know if you prefer either a male or female doctor and we will do our best to accommodate this for you.

If you have any questions about either of the above consultations, please raise them when you book your medical. You can also questions at any stage of the process if you are unsure.

Do I need a chest X-ray?

You'll generally need a chest X-ray if you are 11 years or older, for both permanent and provisional visas. A chest x-ray may not be required for temporary visa applicants. This is often established as part of the health declarations in your ImmiAccount, however, if you are unsure, you will need to confirm with Australian Immigration to confirm your requirements.

How do I get a chest x-ray?

You need to book a separate chest X-ray appointment as we don't complete X-rays at the medical centre. Please contact the options below for up to date pricing.

As these medicals include urine analysis, your medical needs to be either before your period or 3-4 after your period is finished where applicable. Please ensure that you book your medical accordingly, as failing to do so will delay your medical and also incur extra charges.
